The Doug I knew was the person who made me laugh until my sides hurt. He and John were close to my sister and me all through our school years in Otsego. Even though we lost touch too many years ago to remember, please know that he has always been loved and thought of often and, always with a smile. It sounds as though he grew to be as good a man as he was a friend. Doug will be missed, and I pray your memories and love help to sustain you each day.

My condolences to all family members on Doug's passing. May you be comforted in this very difficult family time. It was nice to read about Doug being the wonderful husband, father and grandfather and I am sure he was a wonderful brother, uncle and friend as well. I am grateful for his military service. No words can provide the kind of comfort needed in a time like this but please know that my heart is with you.

i am so sorry for you all. he was a very special person and even though things never worked out for me and daniel. i still considered him my family. I still loved him as a father in law and i know he is finally happy with his wife. i can remember when i was going to take brook for a walk after dark one night and he got upset telling me not to because of a bear that had been seen out and about. he was very protective of his children and grandchildren. i will always love and miss you doug.
