Tilden Marion "Ed" Blair
Of Man, WV
Tilden Marion "Ed" Blair, 69, of Man, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Logan Regional Medical Center, following a short illness.
He was born December 15, 1947, at Logan, a son of the late Tilden and Mae Wells Blair.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Thelmar Blair; two sisters, Thelma Mae "Nan" Blair and Tina Morgan.
Ed was a 1966 graduate of Man High School. A U.S. Army veteran, he proudly served his country from 1967 through 1969 in Viet Nam. He was a disabled coal miner who formerly worked at Belva Coal Company and was a member of UMWA District 17. An avid outdoorsman, Ed enjoyed fishing, hunting, and 4-wheeling. Ed loved to cook and have outings for his friends and family. His Sunday evening hog roasts will long be remembered by the many, many people who attended.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Leona Blair; two sons, Christopher Blair and Jason Blair and his fiancé, Angie Osborne; two daughters, Elizabeth Blair and Chantee Blair and her fiancé, Wilburn Vannatter; one step-son, Jason (Samantha) Tye; six grandchildren, Joshua Blair, Christopher Blair, II, Kandice Blair, Chase and Parker Walls, and Adeline Adams; five step-grandchildren who he dearly loved, Hallie, Griffin, Brooklyn, Ian, and Charlie Tye; five sisters, Irene Wells, Mary (Clifton) Turkle, Louise (Ray) Blevins, Alice Blair, and Patricia Burress; three brothers, Irvin Blair, Joe (Mary) Blair, and Tommy (Deanna) Blair; one special aunt, Bobbie Jean Sites; a very special friend, Landus Allen; many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at the Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church at Rita with Gary Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill where military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post 6153 and American Legion Post 103 of Chapmanville and DAV Post 19 of Harts.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church and one hour prior to services also.
Pall bearers will be Josh Rose, Wibb Vannatter, Jack "Tom Thumb" Starkey, Kevin Rakes, Robert Caldwell, Jason Tye, Greg Blevins, Harley Gibson, and Rick "Moose" Blevins.
