Rev. Linzel Walls
Of Kistler, WV
Rev. Linzel Walls, 85, of Kistler, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, from Logan Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on May 27, 1928, at Hamlin, a son of the late Enos and Viola Hager Walls.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob, John, Charles, Ted, Max, Carl, Rex, Arlie, Mondel, Edward, and Seibert; sisters, Ivory, Nina, Lilly, Evelyn, Macel, Muriel, and Ella Hazel.
Linzel was a member of the UMWA, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and was the owner and operator of Walls Union 76 Service Station at Amherstdale during the early 1970's. His favorite job was being the Pastor of the Lyburn Freewill Baptist Church for over 30 years whom he loved dearly and referred to as his "little flock".
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Irene Gondol Walls; daughter, Sandra (Rupert) Smith of Kistler; granddaughter, Heather (Adam) Nelson and his great-grandson, Cruz Nelson, all of Amherstdale; and special nieces, Omi Midkiff, Michele Stapleton Ferrell, and Julia Ann Sinett along with a host of other relatives, church family, and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Cabauatan, and Corey Green, doctors and staff at St. Mary's Hospital, Trinity Rehab, Dr. Waris and staff, Dr. O'Laughlin and staff, Dr. Marzouk and staff, Dr. Alqudsi, Dr. Jose, Dr. Harvey, and nurses and CNA's at LRMC for all their kindness and care.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
In honor of his request, his remains will be cremated.
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing." II Timothy 4:7-8
