Obituary of Lester Arlie Maynard

Lester Arlie Maynard of Rita, WV Lester Arlie Maynard, 82, of Rita, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 23, 2017, leaving from his home, after an extended illness. He was born on June 19, 1934, at Madison Creek, a son of the late John Russell and Lena Mae Daniels Maynard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Edith Maynard and Gladys Harless; seven brothers, Charlie Maynard, Berthel Maynard, Willard "Bill" Maynard, Cletis Maynard, John Russell Maynard, Jr., Bernard Maynard, Sr., Clarence Maynard. Lester was employed with McDonald Land Company for many years. When he was able, he attended church with his nephew, Bernard. He enjoyed coon hunting, digging ginseng, caring for his coon dogs, and watching television. Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Loudima Spaulding of Madison Creek; and several nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017, at the Saunders Memorial Freewill Baptist Church at Lorado with Rev. Rindy Canterbury officiating. Mr. Maynard's remains have been cremated.
