Today, I was with my dearest and closest friend, Juanita Ellis, for the last time. She passed away at 6:00 pm on October 29, 2016. We were extremely close for many years, and Juanita was always like a mother to me. I remember so vividly all the Sunday dinners, all of our shopping trips together, all of our teaching years together, and our vacations with Juanita and Buddy. Most of all, I remember the years that she prayed for me to accept God as my Savior and accept him into my heart. She never gave up on me. Every Sunday Juanita would always save Bob and me a seat at church in hopes that we would be able to come. Bob and I were both saved in July 1993 and Juanita presented us with a Bible with the inscription: May this Book be a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path until the Great and Wonderful day of meeting our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ --- Love Buddy and Juanita.
I have truly been blessed to have had this wonderful person in my life for so many years as a loyal friend that always loved and treated me like a daughter. She was someone I looked up to, and someone I had the upmost respect for. Juanita was always there for me not matter what. She always accepted me as I was, but loved me too much to let me stay completely that way for very long. It didn't matter what we did together, I always loved the time I got to spend with Juanita.
A true friend like this is a gift of GOD, and no road ever seemed too long.
I have a special prayer for Juanita's family that I love dearly. As time allows and memories unfold you will once again discover days filled with her love, as she always said, The Lord always gives me his best, and right now we all know she has the best!
