Ruth Runyon Justice
of Lake City, PA
Ruth Runyon Justice, 89, of Lake City, formerly of Verner, WV, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born April 22, 1927, at Verner, WV, a daughter of the late Charles and Nancy (Ellis) Runyon.
She graduated from Gilbert High School in Gilbert, WV, and following high school, she married the love of her life, John Justice. Later at the age of 47, she attended Patterson State College in Patterson, NJ and earned her B.S. Degree in Education. Ruth taught second grade at North Dover Elementary in Dover, NJ. Following her retirement, she and her husband moved to Ocala, FL, where they lived until his death in 2001. Ruth then relocated to Lake City to live with her daughter and son-in-law.
She loved her lifelong vocation of teaching and enjoyed reading and traveling throughout the world.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, John H. Justice, whom she married in Ironton, Ohio in 1945; her son, John Michael Justice; her sister, Bessie Workman; her infant sisters, Tilda Sue and Emma Lou Runyon; and her brothers, Charles and Bill Runyon and infant brother, James Runyon.
She will be deeply missed by her family, which includes her daughter, Diana R. Fetterman (Robert) of Lake City; her daughter-in-law, Marilyn Justice of Gettysburg, PA; sisters, Maxine Justice of Landville, WV and Mamie Sheehan (Frank) of Queenstown, MD; brother, Thomas Runyon (Irene) of Butzville, NJ; granddaughters, Brandy Lynn Justice and Anna Loraine Justice; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2016, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Bill Runyon, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services also.
