Charles Edward Reed
of Lyburn, WV
Charles Edward "Ed" Reed, 74, of Lyburn, departed this life on Monday, July 4, 2016, at home, after a long illness.
He was born on April 10, 1942, at Lackey, KY, a son of the late Bert and Geneva Elam Reed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Debbie Reed; and one sister, Lois Edge.
Ed was a disabled lineman formerly employed with Cashion Water Works. He also had worked at a steel mill in Cleveland, OH and a pre-fab factory in IL. Ed enjoyed fishing, trading, and selling produce on the side of the road. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Wanda Mae Browning Reed; three daughters, Tammy (James) Bryant of Cyclone, Rhonda Arthur of Lyburn, and Betty (Terry) Tomblin of Verdunville; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a special granddaughter, Kayla Roark of Cyclone; two brothers, Burlin (Linda) Reed of Hanover and Jody (Patricia) Reed of WI; five sisters, Rev. Patricia (Terry) Brown of Mallory, Barbara Butcher and Donna (Rev. Clarence) Blankenship, both of Man, Lydia (Bill) Wooten of Davin, and Roberta "Rocky" Fernandez of Bruno; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2016, at the Davin Baptist Church at Davin with Rev. Johnny Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in Skyline Cemetery at Justice.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday at the church also.
Pall bearers will be family members.
