Helen Ann Griffin of Man, WV Helen Ann Griffin, 74, of Man, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 5, 2016, leaving from Cleveland Clinic. She was born December 31, 1941, at Roseann, VA, a daughter of the late Julian and Mary Ruth Johnston Mullins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Griffin; two brothers, Don Mullins and Charles Ray Mullins; one sister, Carol Sue Mullins; two nieces, Amber Mullins and Erica Mullins; one nephew, Nicholas Alexander Griffin. Helen was a 1959 graduate of Man High School. After graduation, she went to work for Man Appalachian Regional Hospital where she worked for 44 years, retiring in 2000 as a collections and admission supervisor. Even after retirement, Helen maintained a close relationship with her ARH family. Helen was a Christian who attended Becco United Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She loved spending her time at the ball field where she was always ready with a smile and a hug. Helen had the ability to put everyone she met at ease and was an inspiration to the many people she encouraged through the years. Helen was the voice of Man Little League where hundreds of young people heard their names mentioned over the loud speakers for the first time. She loved making children feel special and devoted a large part of her life to all Man area sports. Helen's favorite professional teams were the Cincinnati Reds and the Bengals. There was nothing she enjoyed more than gathering with her family to play corn hole, karaoke, phase ten or any other activity. Those left to cherish her memory are one son, Byron (Bobbi) Griffin of Man with whom she made her home; two grandchildren, Braden and Blake Griffin; two sisters, Janet (Richard) Mitchell of Spice Creek and Sherry (Willie Senator) Thompson of Logan; two brothers, Julian (Connie) Mullins, Jr. of Amherstdale and Ronnie (Sherry) Mullins of Davin; and many special nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at the Becco United Baptist Church with Rev. P.J. Tomblin and Rev. Darrell Newsome officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the church and one hour prior to services also. Pall bearers will be nephews.
