Rev. Ronald "Nig" Vance
"Country Preacher"
of Davin, WV
Rev. Ronald "Nig" Vance, 79, of Davin, moved into his heavenly home on Thursday, December 24, 2015, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.
He was born on June 1, 1936, at Lorado, a son of the late Millard James and Essie Cook Vance.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Jeanette Salisbury Vance; two sisters, Faye Tilley and Molly Matz; five brothers, Blaine, Russell, Homer, Jack, and Harold Vance.
Rev. Ronald was the founder and former owner of Statewide Roofing who retired in 1996. He was in the ministry for 43 years during which he served as the pastor of Davin Baptist Church for 17 years and pastored the Man Revival Center for three years. In the late 1970's, Rev. Vance and his wife had a television and radio ministry called the Full Gospel Hour. Proud to be a country preacher, the Lord used Brother Nig to lead many souls in the way of the Lord and was an inspiration to all who knew him. Devoted to his family, he was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, ginsenging, and gardening. However, his greatest passion was preaching revivals.
Those left to cherish his memory are one daughter, Jacqulyn "Jackie" Hall of Davin; two sons, Johnny (Kim) Vance and Tommy (Cynthia) Vance, both of Davin; one step-son, Robert "Bobby" (LaDonna) Bryant of Accoville; one sister, Lake Boswell of TN; one brother, Donald Vance of Charleston; 12 grandchildren, Robert "Bobby" Hall, James "Jamie" (Summer) Hall, Zachary Vance, Malorie Vance, Nicholas Vance, Danielle (Jeremy) Simpson, DeLynn Endicott, Rebekah Vance, Blaine Vance; Kim (Todd) Keffer, Craig (Shannon) Bryant, and Katie (Wyatt) Ables; and nine great-grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends.
