Of Accoville, WV
Brenda Carol Hager, 63, of Accoville, WV, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Logan Regional Medical Center after a long courageous battle with brain cancer.
She was born May 16, 1952 at Kistler, a daughter of the late Frank Browning and Betty Jewel Sloan; and step-daughter of the late Freed Woody.
Brenda attended Kistler Free Will Baptist Church for many years, and worked at Ames, Big Lots, Dollar General, and the Community Health Foundation of Man.
Those left to cherish her memory are the love of her life and husband of 46 years, Rev. Harry "Buddy" Hager; two sons Mark Hager of Accoville and Harry (Erin) Hager, Jr. of Leesburg, VA; three grandchildren, Alex, Ivan and Erika Hager, all of Leesburg, VA; two sisters, Mary Perrine of Huntington and Ada (JerryHall) Dempsey of Charleston; one sister-in-law, Joyce Morgan of Mallory; five nephews, Jim Perrine of Huntington, Timothy Perrine, James Roberts of Combs Addition, Matthew Dempsey, and Kevin Elam of Mallory; seven nieces, Stephanie Roberts of Combs Addition, Crystal Bryant of Logan, Aimee Duncan of Charleston, Beth Perrine of Huntington, Delana (Kenny) Spence of Shawsville, VA, and Melinda (Guy) Gibson; four great-nephews, Trey Roberts of Combs Addition, Stephen Perrine of Huntington, Trey Spence of Shawsville, VA, and Jacob Gibson of Accoville; ten great-nieces, Olivia Roberts of Combs Addition, Ashley and Sarah Blair, both of Charleston, Brandi Blair of Neibert, Alayna Bryant of Logan, Katie Perrine of Huntington, Autumn Gibson of Bruno, Annika Elam of Huntington, Taylor Spence of Shawsville, VA, and Ashton Gibson of Accoville; many friends who helped her during her battle include Mary and George Duncan, Bill Bias, Fred and Ellen Osborne, Rev. Roland and Peggy Cook, J.D. and Barbara Roberts, Erik and Lou Vaeli, Ian Vaeli, Ray and Terri Blair, Tom and Gloria Gilco, Elizabeth McDaniels, members of Pro Careers, West Virginia Choice, and members of Kistler Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at Kistler Free Will Baptist Church at Kistler with Rev. Roland Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
