Larry Dwight "Beard" "Shorty" Adams, 68, of Davin, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at the Imogene Dolin Jones Hospice House at Huntington, after a brief illness.
He was born January 11, 1947, at Shively, a son of the late Bill and Lora Bryant Adams.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Bonnie Freeman and Debra Ann Adams.
Larry was a lineman who retired as a foreman from C & C Line Company in 2001. A Christian since 2005, he loved the Lord and worshiping with His people. Devoted to his family, Larry was a hard worker and a good provider. He enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, and fixing cars. Beard had a big heart, often taking in stray cats and nursing them back to health. He will be deeply missed by his feline companions, Socks, Bear, and Snowball.
Those left to miss him and cherish his memory are his wife of 46 years, Judy Ann Scaggs Adams; one son, Larry Edward (Sandra) Adams of Mineral City; five sisters, Janie (Leonard) Farley and Sadie Adkins, both of White Oak, Joanetta Queen and Kathy (Larry) Farley, both of Chapmanville, and Barbie (Danny) Workman of NC; one brother, Nim Adams of White Oak; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
