Myrtle Ellison
Of Rita, WV
Myrtle Ellison, 84, of Rita, went home to be with the Lord and her loving husband of 65 years on Saturday, March 22, 2014, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center, after a sudden illness.
She was born on April 17, 1929, in Lincoln County, the daughter of the late James and Rebecca Pritchard Sizemore.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Paul J. Ellison; one son, Robert Ellison; two daughters, Dreama Copley and Teresa Toler; and four grandchildren.
Myrtle was a home maker and a member of the Rita Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are eight children, Janice (Cecil) Curry of Morristown, TN, John (Rosa) Ellison of Ethel, Mary (Joe) Blair, Larry (Lisa) Ellison, and Paul (Bobbie) Ellison Jr., all of Rita; Kenneth (Sherry) Ellison of Asheboro, NC, Jackie (Carol) Ellison of Rita, and Donald (Jean) Ellison of Asheboro, NC; 33 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Clifford Ellison of OH; one son-in-law, Ralph Copley of Gilman Bottom; and one special friend, Anna Gail Hartman of Taplin; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Alfred "Butch" Cobb and Rev. Michael Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
