Jimmy Lee “Jimbo” Brown Jr., 54, of Greenville, departed this life suddenly on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Logan Regional Medical Center.
He was born on May 6, 1970, at Man, the son of Jimmy Lee Brown of Greenville and the late Sandra Faye (Belcher) Brown.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents and his cousin and best friend, Gary Michael “TeeTye” Brown.
Jimbo was a 1988 graduate of Man High School. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Marines where he served in Desert Storm. Jimbo was very proud that he served his country for four years. He loved to be on the boat with his boys fishing and he enjoyed hunting. Jimbo also enjoyed golfing with his buddies. He had a great sense of humor and was the life of the party. Jimbo enjoyed his grandbabies who are all under the age of five.
Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his father, are the mother of his children, Sabrina Lynn Brown of Greenville; his second wife, Elizabeth Brown of Accoville; his children, Whitney (Coty) Bays of Barboursville, Jake Brown and Courtney Hinkle of Cyclone, and Mikel Tee Brown of Greenville; six grandbabies, Broty and Owen Bays of Barboursville, and Carsen Brown, Finley Hensley, Lake Brown, Eli Brown, all of Cyclone; sister, Lisa and Jerry Justice of Elk Creek; brother, Brian and Celesta Brown of Greenville; niece, Brianna Brown; nephews, Matthew Brown, Nick Justice and Tyler Justice; and many cousins along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the Hunt Freewill Baptist Tabernacle (Upper Church) at Greenville.
Funeral Service will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Hunt Freewill Baptist Tabernacle (Upper Church) with Brother Cecil Bartram officiating.
Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held at noon on Friday, June 28, 2024, at the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery in Dunbar.
