Obituary of Danny Roger Ellis
Please share a memory of Danny to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Danny Roger Ellis, 79, of Bruno, formerly of Newark, OH, departed this life on May 5, 2024, at Trinity Healthcare of Logan, after a long illness.
He was born August 21, 1944, at Bruno, a son of the late Harmon and Dementia Ellis.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepmother, Janice Ellis; four sisters, Opal Blankenship, Shirley Gill, Barbra Newman, and Sandra Bailey; thirteen brothers, Kadger, Charles, Buddy, Levon, Donzil, Zenith, Ronald, Darrell, Harmon Jr., Ricky, Jack, Michael Ellis; and John Steven.
Danny was of the Baptist faith. He served his country with honor as a veteran of the United States Army. Following his military service, he dedicated over 40 years of his life to Owens Corning in Newark, OH, where he eventually retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.
When he was able, Danny found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid golfer, finding solace and camaraderie on the green. He was also a passionate sports enthusiast, cheering on his favorite teams with enthusiasm. Above all, Danny treasured moments spent with his loved ones, especially at family reunions, where laughter and love filled the air.
Those left to cherish his memory are two brothers, Larry Ellis of New Mexico, Harold and his wife Lynn Ellis of Accoville; three sisters, Wanda and her husband Larry Sites of Petersburg, Kay and her husband Michael Roberts of Chapmanville, and Sharon Hatfield of Greenvalley; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
