Obituary of Sharon Kay Woods
Please share a memory of Sharon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Sharon Kay (Damron) Woods, 76, of Hensley Heights, went to her Heavenly home suddenly on Sunday, April 21, 2024, leaving from Vineyard Senior Living in Henderson, NV, after a long illness.
She was born July 19, 1947 in Pike County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late James Preston Damron and Lottie May (Sanders) Damron of Taplin, WV.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Daniel “Danny” Woods.
Sharon was a graduate of Man High School; a 1969 graduate of Marshall University Teacher’s College and later went on to earn a master’s degree in Business Education from Marshall University in August 1972. Sharon returned home, teaching for over 30 years at Man High School, where she taught classes in accounting, bookkeeping, typing, and other business-related courses. She met the love of her life Danny, and they married in 1972 in Grundy, Virginia. Danny became a federal coal mine inspector and retired as an education training specialist from the U.S. Department of Labor. Sharon was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, educator, and friend.
Those left to cherish her memory are her one son, Brad Woods and his wife Jaime (Bucy) Woods of Manhattan, Kansas, along with a host of friends.
A Graveside Services will begin at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Highland Memory Gardens with Brother Sheldon Wells officiating.
