Obituary of Anna Nadine Blankenship

Please share a memory of Anna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Anna “Nadine” Blankenship of Hunt, departed this life on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Logan Regional Medical Center. Nadine made her plans for this departure many years ago when she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at Greenbranch Freewill Baptist Church. She was born on May 23, 1944, at Browning Fork in Mingo County, to the now departed Ernest and Myrtle (Baldwin) Fowler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and their husbands, Betty and Junior Grimmett, Virginia “Jenny” and Teddy Robinette, and Alta “Jane” and James Grimmette; four sisters-in-law, Imogene Workman, Donna Ray Rogers, Vickie Frye, and Tammy Maynard; and brother-in-law, Norville Blankenship. Nadine was a home maker who took great pride in her home and family. She especially enjoyed cooking and baking, then sharing her specialties with friends. Nadine loved decorating for holidays. Over time, due to illness, Nadine was limited in her activities. Since she was unable to attend church she enjoyed watching Charles Stanley on TV and reading Sunday School literature. Those close to her through telephone chats were her sister-in-law Janice Blankenship, Carol Trent, Sue (Grimmette) Browning, Brenda Williamson, Joan Trent, her neighbor, Tammy Simpkins, and other special friends. Nadine will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Nadine is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 63 years, “Buddy” Mason Blankenship; one son, Mark Ernest Blankenship. She was extremely proud of Mark and often referred to the fact that they shared the same birthday and the same love of funny stories. She is survived by one sister, Juanita “Wanda” Grimmette of Hunt; two brothers-in-law and their wives, Ranny and Susie Blankenship of Lorado and Luther and Pearl Blankenship of Richie County; and several nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Frye officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
