Obituary of Wanda Lou Williams

Wanda Lou Williams, 88, of Amherstdale, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 4, 2024, leaving her earthly home surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 19, 1935, in Cuzzie, the daughter of the late Howard and Nellie (Price) Elliott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Freddy Williams; her son, Freddy “Pete” Williams; her grandson, Larry Williams; two brothers, Wylie Elliott and Winsel and Gladys Elliott; her son-in-law, Bobby Bryant; and her brother-in-law, Clinton Collins. Lou was a beautician for 55 years and was the owner and operator of Lou’s Beauty Lounge since February 29, 1968. She has been a member of the Taplin Free Will Baptist Church since the early 60s and a member of the original Rita Quartet. She became a Christian at the age of 16. Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Ladonna Bryant of Taplin; 2 sons, Rev. Gary and Geneva Lee Williams of Bozoo and Michael and Ashley Nicole Williams of Amherstdale; her sister, Jean Collins of Davin; sister-in-law, Grace Elliott of Taplin; five grandchildren, Kimberly and Todd Keffer of Man; Craig and Shanna Bryant of NC; Katie and Wyatt Ables on Active duty in the U.S. Air Force in Germany; Jeffrey Williams of Bozoo; David Williams of Amherstdale; Nicholas (Natasha) Williams of Peytona; eight Great-grandchildren, Madison and Drew Merritt, Sydney Keffer and her fiancé' Drew Williamson, Peyton Bryant, Camryn Bryant, Annaliese Ables, Amelia Ables, Mia Williams, and River Williams; one great-great-grandson, Duncan Merritt. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Monday, January 8, 2024, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. January 9, 2024, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man, with Brother Sheldon Wells and Brother Willard Spence officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
