Obituary of Lutisha Mayo Sugg Copley
Please share a memory of Lutisha to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lutisha Mayo (Sugg) Copley, 74, of Accoville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 3, 2023, after a long illness.
She was born on December 24, 1948, at Robinette, WV, the daughter of the late Henry Mayo and Irene Sugg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Jerry Douglas “ToJo” Copley, Jr.; one sister Eudora Adkins; two brothers, Blaine Garrett Sugg and his wife Brenda, Sunny Sugg; and her parents in-law Emmitt and Edith Copley.
Lutisha worked as a Dental assistant for 55 years. She first started working for Dr. Hannan and Dr. Hyre from Huntington, WV after the Buffalo Creek flood when they opened an office behind the Gino’s in the town of Man. The office was eventually located in the White and Browning building in Logan. Upon the closing of that office, Lutisha went on to work for the Logan Dental Clinic and the Oceana Dental Office. She took great pride in her profession and truly loved her job. Spending time at the beach with her family and niece Becky and Phil Burton of Conway, SC was one of her favorite pastimes. Lutisha loved to cook for her family and spend quality time with them. In her spare time she enjoyed making jewelry.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving Daughter, Tammy Lynn Brock Jarrell and her husband Gary of Accoville, WV; three grandchildren, Jackie and his wife Christi Brock of Accoville, Michael Brock and Stephanie Prince of Accoville, and Skylar Copley and her fiancé Chris Carroll of Charleston WV; two great-grandchildren, Jaycee Brock and her boyfriend Dawson Vance, and Kaitlyn and Kyle Browning; two brothers, Tennis Jasper Sugg and his wife Colleen of Lexington KY, and Charles Sugg and his wife Emily of MI; a very special daughter-in-law Amie Brumfield Copley; eleven nieces and nephews, Becky Burton, Earl Allen Mullins, Jennifer Koontz, Chuck Sugg, Cindy Meszaros, Bridgette Rice, Blaine Sugg Jr., Annette Ellis, Tennis T.J. Sugg, Andrea Davis, and Chris Sugg; an ex-husband and father of her children, Jerry D. Copley and his companion Debbie Evans of Ripley, WV; along with a host of other relatives, family, and friends.
In honor of Lutisha’s wishes her remains have been cremated and will be placed with her loving son Tojo at a later date.
