Obituary of Loretta Mae Harvey

Loretta Mae Harvey of Cyclone, WV Loretta Mae Harvey, 76, of Cyclone, joined her husband in their Heavenly home on Sunday, November 5, 2023, leaving from Trinity Healthcare at Logan after a long illness. She was born on March 14, 1947, at Cyclone, the daughter of the late Wayne and Allene (Osborne) Lusk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 35 years Jerry Harvey; and her siblings, Barbara Bailey, Velma Workman, Margaret Bailey, Emory Lusk, Leslie Lusk, and James Lusk. Loretta was a home maker and a loving wife, mother, and Nana. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family. She will long be remembered by her family and friends for making the best fried chicken and custard pies. Loretta was a longtime faithful member of the Bright Prospect Missionary Baptist Church on Main Huff. She was a direct person and when asked spoke what she thought. Loretta will be deeply missed by her loving family. Those left to cherish her memory are one son, Kevin Harvey and his wife Becky of Chapmanville; one daughter, Bridget Blankenship and her husband Bryant of Dublin, VA; four grandchildren, Carrie Blankenship and Gracie Blankenship, both of Dublin, VA, Kaylin Harvey of Chapmanville, and J.J. Johnson and his wife Alex of Olympia, WA; three sisters, Patsy Lusk, Sharon Lusk and her husband Argel, and Judy Osborne and her husband Tommy, all of Cyclone; one brother, Paul Lusk and his wife Naoma of Curtis; many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives, church family, and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2023, at the Bright Prospect Missionary Baptist Church on Main Huff with Rev. Scottie Lusk officiating. Burial will follow in Harvey-Toler Family Cemetery at Farley Branch Road, Wharton, WV. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church also. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
