Obituary of Danny Ott Toler

Danny O. “Boon” Toler, 80, of Bruno, departed this life on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at home, after an extended illness. He was born on February 16, 1943, at Bruno, the son of the late Arthur Loran and Esther Hiley (Altizer) Toler. In addition to his parents, Boon was preceded in death by one son, Danny “Duke” Toler Sr., and Sabrina Toler who he thought of as a daughter; two sisters, Wilma West and Anna Walker; brothers, James Toler, and Norman Toler, Jerry Lee Toler Sr., and Roger Toler; and a dear friend Rick Collins. Boon, a Dallas Cowboys fan, loved watching game shows, the news, and late-night star gazing. He always had a smile on his face, was willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed one and really loved his community. Those left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Danny Toler Jr., Randy Toler, Heather (Shawn) Walls, all of Bruno, Trevor Bailey of FL, Alley (Trevor) Nagy of Logan, Cory Lee “Knot-Head”, Railey Vanover and Carly Vanover, both of Bruno, John Steven Toler of Huntington, Ashley Browning and Hannah Browning, both of NC; great-grandchildren, Lexi Kenneda, Hayden Walls, RJ Toler, Richard Toler, and Mark Bailey who were like sons to him. Some of his closest friends that he considered family: Frank, Celia, and Caleb Adkins, Mike and Debra Vanover, Kenny Vider, Kenny (Kathy) Adkins, and Whitney and Cory Vanover whom he considered like his own kids and caretakers for him; along with a host of other family and friends. Visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2023, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man. In honor of Boon’s wishes, his remains will be cremated following the visitation.
