Ricky Lee “Pig” Brown
of Claypool, WV
Ricky Lee “Pig” Brown, 65, of Claypool, departed this life on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at CAMC-Memorial Division, after a short illness.
He was born on November 17, 1957, at Man, the son of the late Linze and Gay (Morgan) Brown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Linze Ray Brown; his sister-in-law, Debbie Carter Brown; two nephews, Billy Brown and Jamie Brown.
Pig was a 1977 graduate of Man High School. After graduation, he went to work for Pittston Coal Company. He then transitioned into a coal truck driver where he worked for several area trucking companies. When he was able he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Pig loved spending time with his family and friends.
He married the love of his life on November 1, 1980, Wanda Sue (Peck) Brown; they were blessed with two children, Ricky Lee Brown Jr. and his wife Sarah of Mallory and Rebecca Lee Ann Brown; four grandchildren of whom he was very proud, Seth Lusk, Abigail Brown, Nathan Brown, and Morgan Brown; several cousins who were like his brothers, Rodney Brown, Randy Brown, Chuck Brown and Kenny Morgan; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Barbara and Lewis Napier, Tilson and Misty Peck, Brenda Wilburn, and John and Peggy Peck; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A gathering of friends and family will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Friday, August 18, 2023, at the Greenville Freewill Baptist Church at Greenville.
Memorial services will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday at the Greenville Freewill Baptist Church with his cousin Rev. Rodney Brown officiating.
In honor of Pig’s wishes his remains have been cremated.
