Obituary of Walter Wayne Wolford

Walter Wayne Wolford of Davin, WV Walter Wayne Wolford, 66, of Davin, departed this life on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Logan Regional Medical Center, after an extended illness. He was born on November 5, 1956, in Davin, the son of the late Wayne and Orpha Elsie (Salyers) Wolford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Walter Wayne Wolford, Jr. Walter was a retired logger and tree trimmer. He was a 1975 graduate of Man High School. When he was able, he enjoyed digging roots, four-wheeling, and traveling. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Walter dearly loved his dog Jack who he took with him everywhere he could. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Felisha Dawn Wolford, and her fiancé Thomas Arthur, Jr. of Kistler; his grand-daughter, Alana Faith Simpkins of Rich Creek; his sister, Dixie Lesher of Boone County; two nephews, Bill Lesher and his wife Becky and Davy Lesher, all of Boone County; his best friend, Ed Tackett of Accoville; and his dog Jack along with a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2023, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man. Burial will follow in the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery at Dunbar, where the Donal C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery Honor Guard will conduct military graveside rites.
