Marlene Evans
of Davin, WV
Marlene Evans, 63, of Davin, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 19, 2023, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born on March 3, 1959, at Man, the daughter of Pearl Mae (Woolum) Cresong of Man and the late Hubert Lee Cresong.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Cresong; her son-in-law, Kenneth “Bub” Lester; her brothers-in-law, Leo Miller, Terry Caserta and Jerry Evans; sister-in-law, Sue Evans; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Linda Ward.
Marlene was a faithful member of the Oceana Freewill Baptist Church. She was kind, loving person who sure loved her family more than anything. Mar was extremely involved in the lives of her grandchildren: offering protection, love, and cheering them through life.
Those left to cherish her memory, in addition to her mother, are her loving husband of 48 years, James Evans; two daughters, Tabatha Lester and Teria (Matthew) Hopkins, both of Davin; three grandchildren, Haleigh Lester, Kenley Lester, and Axel Hopkins, all of Davin; her twin sister, Charlene (Jimmy Dale) Brumfield of Lorado; sisters, Linda Caserta of Crown and Diane Miller of Man; brothers, Steve Cresong of Man and James (Sheila) Jewell of Coal Mtn; a special niece, Amie Copley of Lorado; and many other nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 11 until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
A celebration of life service will begin a 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Jackie Grimmett officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Pall bearers will be Matt Hopkins, Slick Nelson, James Miller, Corey McGraw, Mike Prichard, Jimmy Brumfield, and Jamie Smith.
Honorary pall bearers will be Jimmy Dale Brumfield and James Jewell.
