Obituary of Sharon Kaye Johnston

Sharon Kaye Johnston of Crown, WV Sharon Kaye Johnston, 71, of Crown, departed this life on Monday, November 21, 2022, leaving from her earthly home, after a short illness. She was born on January 18, 1951, at Mallory, the daughter of the late Roy and Florence (Whitt) Elam. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Hale Billy Johnston; two sons, Chris Edward Johnston and Billy Paul Johnston; grandson, Michael Scites; three brothers, Delancy Elam, James Elam, and Roy Elam Jr.; and one sister, Mary Allen. Sharon worked for 12 years at the Tape Hut in Man. Currently, she was a homemaker who loved spending time with her grandkids and her dog Sadie. Sharon enjoyed playing Candy Crush and Solitary on her I-pad, watching Golden Girls and Madea Movies, and talking on the phone with her best friend Linda Copley and her sister-in-law Mary Helen Elam. Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Kimberly “Kim” Johnston Miller and her husband Gary Lee Miller; five grandchildren, Daniel Balt and his wife Sara of Princeton, IL, Gary Hale Miller and his girlfriend Tiffany Perdue of Accoville, Tyler Johnston and his girlfriend Shannon Hensley of Crown, C.J. Carpenter, and Angel Lowe and her husband Josh Lowe; nine great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Miller, Cordelia Collins, Zaiden Files Johnston, Alexandria Miller, Tristan Miller, Remi Jo Lowe, Trevor Lusk, Noah Lowe, Jaylee Browning, and one baby girl due May 1, 2023; two sisters, Charlotte Cocat and her husband Frank and Freda Perry, both of IL; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Helen Elam who was like a sister to Sharon, Anna Bebee and Jerry, Tim and Tracey Johnston, and Roy Johnston; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home in Man. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Pall bearers will be Gary Miller, little Gary Miller, Tyler Johnston, Josh Lowe, Darrell Washington, and Pete Morris. Honorary pall bearers will be Trevor Lusk, Zaiden Johnston, Noah Lowe, Blake Adkins, and Brayden Whitt.
