Johnny H. (John) Elkins
of Lorado, WV
Johnny H. (John) Elkins, 55, of Lorado, departed this life on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at home, after a short illness.
He was born on February 2, 1967, at Mullins, the son of the late Buster and Garnett (Bailey) Elkins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter Shelby Lynn Elkins; his mother-in-law Juanita Osborne; one sister, Betty Mullins; his brother-in-law, Oliver Mullins; his nephew David Elkins; his brother-in-law, Pete Maynard; and his brother-in-law, Mason Hatfield.
Johnny loved spending time with his bestfriend and granddaughter Sofia and his children. He enjoyed working on anything with a motor. He loved his Ford truck. Johnny was a very outgoing person and would do anything he could to help anyone. His favorite quote, “Roads? Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.” from the movie Back to the Future.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 35 years Tammy Elkins; his son, Mark Elkins of Lorado; his daughters, Carla Elkins of Lorado and Tiffany Elkins and her boyfriend Mark Robinson of Kistler; his granddaughter, Sofia Elkins; his sisters, Merlie Maynard and Laura Lusk and her boyfriend Sammy Bellomy, all of Cyclone; three brothers, Darrell and Jane Elkins of Amherstdale, David and Karen Elkins and Richard and Carolyn Elkins, all of Lorado; his father-in-law, Larry and Nida Osborne of Accoville; his brothers-in-law, Larry Lee Osborne and Joe and Pauline Osborne, all of Accoville; his sister-in-law, Ruby Hatfield of Lorado; along with a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:50 p.m. at the Graceway Baptist Church at Lorado.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2022, at the Graceway Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Lusk officiating. Burial will follow in Home Sweet Home Cemetery at Lorado.
Pallbearers will be JD Daniels, Danny Williams, Mark Robinson, Devan Elkins, Darrell Elkins, and Gene Lester.
