Obituary of Larry Daniel Browning, Sr.

Larry Daniel Browning, Sr. Of Greenvalley, WV Larry Browning, Sr., 83, of Greenvalley, departed this life on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Logan Regional Medical Center, after a long illness. He was born on December 28, 1938, at Man, the son of the late Claude and Willa (Goodman) Browning. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Ernestine “Tiny” (Gollihue) Browning; two daughters, Dianna Hager and Melody Abbott; one son-in-law, Roy Garbosky, Sr.; three brothers, William, Benjamin, and Randall Browning; and one sister, Claudette Wolford. Larry was a retired coal miner who retired from Pittston Coal Company at LK Mining. He was a member of the UMWA and was also in the National Guard. Larry loved hunting, football, and baseball where he was a loyal Cincinnati Reds fan. He loved to spend time with his family and loved ones and loved to talk to anyone who wanted to chat especially his best friend Don West. Larry was of the Freewill Baptist faith. He loved to travel and take long drives everyday just to enjoy nature. Larry really loved the company of his great-grandchildren and he is loved and missed by many. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Lara Garbosky of Kistler; one son, Rev. Larry (April) Browning, Jr. of Cyclone; one son-in-law that resided with him in Greenvalley, Donald Abbott; his grandchildren, Roy (Billie) Garbosky, Crystal (Scott) Spence, Kenny Milton, Sara Krummen, Michael Hall, John Hall, Hope Coomes, Claudia (James) Adams, Samuel Browning, Larry Browning III, Dianna Browning, Destiny Blevins, and Ryan Lawrence; 23 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Monday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man and one hour prior to services at the funeral home also. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home with Rev. Roland Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
