Obituary of Juanita B. West

Juanita B. West of Bruno, WV Juanita B. West, 89, of Bruno, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, after a long illness. She was born January 11, 1933, at Christian, the daughter of the late Edward and Gertie (Montgomery) Barrett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Hartis G. West who went to his home in Heaven on October 18, 2010; three sisters, Margret, Helen, and Joyce; and five brothers, Clarence, Clifford, Doug, Donald, and Clayton. Juanita loved the Lord and her church family and friends. She was a member of the Bruno Church of God for over 50 years. Juanita was a retired hospital worker formerly employed with Man Appalachian Regional Hospital. She loved sewing, canning, and baking. Those left to cherish her memory are one son, Roy “Buck” (Wanda) West of Mallory; two daughters, Sharon West of Aurora, CO and Carolyn West of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren, Eric (Angelia) West of GA, Brian (Tina) West of Harts Creek, and Beth West of Bruno; several great-grandchildren, one great-great- grandchild on the way; and her special friends, Jerry and Shirley Toler, Preacher Roger and Martha Frye, and her nursing home friends and staff who she loved. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 27, 2022, at the Bruno Church of God with Rev. Roger Frye officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church also.
