Obituary of Mae Osborne

Herma Mae Noel Osborne of Charleston, WV formerly of Cyclone, WV Herma Mae Noel Osborne, 91, of Charleston formerly of Cyclone, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, leaving from Hubbard House West at Charleston, after an extended illness. She was born on March 9, 1930, at Wilsondale, the daughter of the late Emory Rickey and Vicy Ann (Marcum) Noel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Frank Osborne, Jr.; one daughter, Teresa Osborne Bevins; six brothers, Rev. Chelsey Noel, Walter Noel, Howard Noel, Lee Noel, Fred Noel, and Rev. Eddie Noel; and two sisters, Charlene Deskins and Louise Hagman. Mae was a 1948 graduate of Lenore High School. After graduation, she went to work for Lewis Furniture at Man and also worked for the Gilman family at McNeely Funeral Home and McNeely Hardware and eventually retiring from Burgess and Lohn Supermarket at Man. Mae became a Christian and member of the Church of God when she was a teenager. At the time of her death she was a member of the Campus Church of God where she was an active member of the Ladies Aide and the church’s Senior’s Group. Over the years Mae has held many different offices in the church, sang in the Campus Trio in the 1960’s and 1970’s., and was always a willing worker for the Lord. She was also a member of S.T.A.R.T. at Man. Mae was devoted to her family and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Darla Thompson of Charleston with whom she made her home and Anne Cooper of Charleston; five grandchildren, David (Jessica) Thompson of Cyclone, Sarah (Ricky) Brown of Mallory, Rebekah (Jon) Huff of Richmond, KY, Jonathan Bevins of Chapmanville, and Emily Cooper of Charleston; six great-grandchildren, Seth Lusk, Abigail “Abby” Brown, Nathan Brown, Nolan Huff, Breanna Mounts, and Ginger Bailey; one sister, Bernice (Fred) Kirk of Chardon, OH; three brothers, Emory (Ola) Noel, Jr. of Louisa, KY, David (Margaret) Noel of Uniontown, OH, and Rev. Charles L. (Shirley) Noel of Wimauma, FL; sisters-in-law, Billie Noel of Mallory and Sue Noel of Chicago, IL; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2022, at the Campus Church of God at Campus. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to services on Monday. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2022, at the Campus Church of God with her brother, Rev. Charles L. Noel and Pastor and nephew Rev. Chelsey Noel, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Pall bearers will be grandsons, grandsons-in-law, and great-grandsons.
