Obituary of Joseph G. Adkins

Joseph G. “Joe” Adkins of Davin, WV Joseph G. “Joe” Adkins, 65, of Davin, departed this life suddenly on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. Joe was born April 10, 1956, a son of the late Uhel and Fern Adkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas U. “Tommy” Adkins; his grandparents, Sampson and Rosie Adkins and Tom and Allie Combs. Joe was very quiet, humble man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden, watching sports on television, especially the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cincinnati Reds. He loved watching Nascar and his favorite driver, the late Dale Earnhardt. Joe also enjoyed spending time with his furry constant companion, Chewy. Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Marcy (Lee) Feltner of Colonial Beach, VA; a special nephew and sister-in-law who provided the best of care and saw that his every need was met, Aaron Adkins and Ann Adkins of Cyclone. Additional survivors include his niece, Melinda (John) Curry of Ottawa; nephews, Randy (Katie) Feltner and Tommy (Robin Schick) Feltner of Colonial Beach, VA. He leaves behind great-nephews and great-neices, Ethan Curry, Wyatt Feltner, Kadin Feltner, Emma Feltner, Teach Feltner, Nora Feltner, and Kynlee Feltner. Joe was also survived by special neighbors, Bobby and Terri Schoolcraft. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 13, 2021, at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill with Brother Stephen Walls officiating.
