James “Jake” Glenn Stepp
Of Amherstdale, WV
James “Jake” Glenn Stepp, 84, of Amherstdale, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Friday, October 22, 2021, leaving from his residence.
He was born July 28, 1937, the son of the late Eli and Edna Myrtle (Staten) Stepp.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Charlene Vance, Juanita Adkins, and JoAnn Curry; and three brothers, Richard “Pete” Stepp, Roy Stepp, Leo Stepp, and Robert Stepp.
James worked in the coal mines for almost 40 years and retired from Consol Energy. He was a member of the UMWA. James was a faithful member of Becco United Baptist Church since July 17, 1977. James served the church as a Trustee and former president of the Men’s Fellowship. His life was totally dedicated to the Lord and Jake served the Lord through his dedication to Becco United Baptist Church. Jake enjoyed telling everyone he met about the goodness of the Lord.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 25 years, Judy (Tomblin) Stepp; two daughters, Melissa (Clark) Perry of Accoville and Cathy (Kevin) Readinger of Tampa, FL; two brothers, Randall (Sherry) Stepp of Robinette and Sammy (Jill) Stepp of Jasper, AL; Grandchildren, Cameron James Perry, Nicole Guarisco and Eric Readinger; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives, church family, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at the Becco United Baptist Church with Rev. P.J. Tomblin officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church also.
Pallbearers will be family, church family, and friends.
