Connie Matney Walls
Of Amherstdale, WV
Connie Parsley Matney Walls, 67, of Amherstdale, departed this life on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, after a short illness.
She was born on October 15, 1953, at Logan, the daughter of Betty Joan Stepp Parsley of Robinette and the late Leonard Parsley.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Cecil Matney; her second husband, Wayne Walls; one daughter, Crystal Ann Matney; and granddaughter, Hannah Matney; one sister, Debra Ann Prince; and her grandparents, Jim and Amy Stepp.
Connie was a good daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Before retirement, Connie was employed with Trinity Healthcare at Logan and Logan Center in their Housekeeping Departments. She also worked as a cashier at Reduce on Buffalo Creek. Connie loved the Lord and enjoyed going to church. Devoted to her family, she also loved spending time with her mother, children and grandchildren. Connie will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory, in addition to her mother, are two sons, Cecil “Rocky” Matney Jr. and his wife Ashley Matney of Madison and Greg Allen Matney and his wife Tammy Matney of Amherstdale; six grandchildren, Ashley Lee Matney, Gregory Dean Matney, Kayla Nicole Matney, and Savannah Matney, all of Amherstdale, and Shooter Matney and Jett Matney, both of Madison; one brother, Roger Allen Parsley of Robinette; one niece, Barbara Lynn Grimmett of Stowe; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
In honor of Connie’s wishes her remains have been cremated and there will be no services.
