Gladys Eloise Elliott
of Neibert
Gladys Eloise Elliott, 83, of Neibert, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, leaving from Trinity Healthcare at Logan, after a short illness.
She was born on April 6, 1938, at Rita, the daughter of the late Herbert and Virginia (Dillo) Burgess.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wylie Elliott; two sons, Gregory Eugene Elliott and Brian Keith Elliott; one sister, Katherine “Kattie” Wilburn; and one brother, Ernest Burgess.
Gladys was a home maker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was a life long faithful member of Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church at Rita where she was a member of the Ladies Aide. Gladys was a member of her church choir and in her younger years was a member of the Gospel Tones with her husband Wylie, Jean Collins, and Margaret Browning. She loved her family unconditionally and served the Lord with her whole heart.
Those left to cherish her memory are four grandchildren, Jason Elliott and his wife Erica of Culloden, Jessica Bradley and her husband Ryan of Huntington, Adam Keith Elliott and his wife Taiasia of Wilmington, NC, and Jacob Tyler Elliott and his fiancé Holly Marie Vance of Chapmanville; three great-grand-daughters, Hope Elliott and Faith Elliott both of Culloden and Lillith Rosemarie Elliott of Wilmington, NC; her daughters-in-law, Cheryl Elliott Hicks and her husband David of Mill Creek and Julie Elliott Vinson of Wilmington, NC; very special sisters-in-law, Jean Collins of Davin; Lou Williams of Amherstdale, and Grace Elliott of Taplin; special niece, Priscilla “Cricket” Vanover; a friend that she loved like a daughter, Duwanna Sorrell; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Isom and her grandson Jason Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in Sanders Cemetery at Ranger.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home also.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
