Mary Ann Rhodes Osborne
of Amherstdale, WV
Mary Ann Rhodes Osborne, 76, of Amherstdale, went home to be with the Lord greeted by her heavenly family and friends on Thursday, March 12, 2015, leaving from this world surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on May 22, 1938, at Welch, the daughter of the late Lawrence Mahlon and Addie Elizabeth Hanson Rhodes.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Lee Osborne, Sr; two sons, Edward Ray Osborne and Clinton James Osborne; and her siblings, Butch, Wanda, Larry, and Roger.
Ann was a home maker and a loving mother who really enjoyed taking care of her family. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports, vacationing with her family, and rummaging around in the mountains hunting for molly muchers. A wonderful cook, Ann fed not only her family but everyone she could uplift with her homemade treats.
A dedicated christian, Ann was a true servant of the Lord. Her zest for life, love of people, and devotion to the Lord was evident in her songwriting, singing for the Lord, visiting the sick, and giving candy to kids to keep them quiet during church services. She had a profound love of God that she shared with everyone she met. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and church family.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Debra Ann (Leonard) Sword of Man, Kenneth Lee (Patty) Osborne, Jr. of Amherst, New Hampshire, Joseph Scott Osborne of Amherstdale, and Ricky Darren Osborne at home; two daughters-in-law who she loved like daughters, Judy Osborne of Accoville and Bessie Osborne of Toney Fork Road; five sisters, Gloria Faye Keaton, Shelia (Benson) Gobel, and Sarah Owens, all of Peterstown, Sue (Leston) Ross of Troutdale, VA, and Phyllis Jean Waddell of Oak Hill; 13 grandchildren; Timothy (Beverly), Jonathan (Sarah), and Summer LeeAnn Sword, Larry (Anouk), Kenny III, Kelley Ann, George Osborne, Cristy (Art) Eason, Kenny Osborne, Jennifer, Jalynn, and Joey, Osborne, and Shannon (Jeff) Zundel; and 7 great-grandchildren, Josie, Lylah, Braxton, Shail, Brody, Camryn, and Bentley; her special daughters, Sherry, Melba, and Brenda; many nieces and nephews; her church family; and her beloved pets along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Bernard Maynard and Preacher Tommy Booth officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny.
