Anna Gayle Hartman Of Accoville, WV Anna Gayle Hartman, 84, of Accoville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 12, 2020, leaving from CAMC-Memorial Division at Charleston. She was born on December 12, 1935, in Lincoln County, the daughter of the late Rev. Henry Jay and Ardith (Dial) Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five of her six siblings. Anna Gayle married the love of her life on July 2, 1956. Together they had three children, Audrey (Elliott) Ellis, Aubrey John (Elaine) Hartman Jr., and Martha (Emmett) Russell. And a dear friend who Anna Gayle thought of as a daughter, Sabrina (Jody) Rose. Anna Gayle was a devout Christian and a member of the Crown Freewill Baptist Church for 18 years. She enjoyed spending time with loved ones, reading her Bible, and going to church. She also loved playing with her great-grandchildren, talking on FaceTime, being outside, and being greeted by family pets. Anna Gayle loved to live life to the fullest; she loved to laugh and enjoyed playing jokes. In addition to her children, Anna Gayle is lovingly remembered by her bother, Henry Jay Smith Jr.; her grandchildren, Tara (Stephen) Lucas and their son Grayson; Gary Vance; Brooke Lockhart (Justin Kerr) and their children, Aubrie, Amelia, and Mason; Trey (Brittney) Hartman and their children Hadley and Hollyn; Judy (JR) Owsley and their children Kameron and Ethan; Kelli (Keith) Bailey and their children Emmi and Easton; Kayla Russell and her children Daylen, Jayana, and Christian; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and friends. A celebration of Anna Gayle’s life will take place during her visitation from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, November 16, 2020, at Crown Freewill Baptist Church and one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at Crown Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Charles D. Vance and Reverend Jody Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Claypool Cemetery at Davin. Pall bearers will be Aubrey Hartman Jr., Elliott Ellis, Emmett Russell, Trey Hartman, Stephen Lucas, Justin Kerr, and Rev. Jody Rose. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Chris Tipton and Sheila Justice for all the loving care they provided Anna Gayle over the years.
