Of Bruno, WV
Kay Frances McCoy, 73, of Bruno, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 19, 2020, leaving from her earthly home, after an extended illness.
She was born on February 27, 1946, at Greenville, the daughter of the late Pribble and Edna Grace Keene Ellis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Rev. Ronald McCoy; and one sister, Patricia Ellis Walls; one sister-in-law, Lorene Ellis.
Kay was a home maker and a member of Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church. Being married to a minister, Kay faithfully attended various churches during her husband’s ministry of 36 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and a dedicated member of her community. Kay loved being a Christian, family gatherings, and spending time with family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory are two children, Leisha (Mike) Goodman and Rev. Ronald Steven (Lori) McCoy, both of Bruno; four granddaughters, Kayla “Nikki” (Chad) Sims, Morgan (Dave) Johnson, Hannah (Travis) Mounts, and Reagan McCoy, all of Bruno; two great-grandsons, Brayden Sims and Holden Johnson, both of Bruno; four great-granddaughters, Kylee Mounts, Kyndle Mounts, Hadley Johnson, and Spencer Sims, all of Bruno; three brothers, Albert “Bob” Ellis of Kistler, Freeborn “Bill” (Sherry) Ellis of Clemens, NC, and Redford “Bud” Ellis of Ft. Lauderville, FL; her brother-in-law, Rev. Tilly (Donna) Walls of Verner; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2020, at the Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church at Bruno with Rev. James Ellis and Rev. Tilly Walls officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church and one hour prior to services at the church also.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
