Donald Dempsey
Of Mallory, WV
Donald Dempsey, 58, of Mallory, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December, 19, 2019, leaving from Fayette County, after an extended illness.
He was born on September 16, 1961, at Mallory, the son of the late James Herman and Effie Dessie Mahone Dempsey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James “Jimmy” Conard Dempsey; and one sister, Bessie Dempsey.
Donald was a 1981 graduate of Man High School. He worked for the Logan County Board of Education at Man High School for over 31 years. Donald was faithful to attend Mallory Hollow Freewill Baptist Church where he ultimately got saved in March of 2017. Donald enjoyed hunting and picking up cans for recycling with his grandchildren, Chase and Cierra. He also enjoyed traveling to the beach, visiting Tennessee, and touring the State of WV looking for waterfalls with his daughter Cassie. Devoted to his family, Donald was a good provider, a hard worker, and a wonderful father and grand-father. A friendly person, Donald knew many people and was always there to lend a helping hand. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory are four children, Donald Lee (Miranda) Dempsey, Jr., Cassie Lynn (Andrew) Eldridge, and Angel Michelle Dempsey, all of Mallory, and LaShayla Whisper Dempsey of Delbarton; two precious grand-daughters, Cierra Paige Salmons and Camreigh Rose Dempsey, both of Mallory; his only grandson, Chase Lee Dempsey with whom he shared a special bond; four sisters, Dollie (Roger) Hessler of Marion, OH, Gladys (Kenneth) Brown of Cyclone, Donna Jean Dempsey and Barbara (Robert) Morgan, both of Mallory; one brother, Bobby (Linda) Dempsey of McDowell County; one very special friend, William “Bill” Ward of Logan; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home and one hour prior to services.
