Charles Eugene Toler

Of Daniels, WV

   Charles Eugene Toler, 91, of Daniels, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 10, 2019, surrounded by family at Bowers Hospice House at Beckley.

   He was born on March 25, 1928, at Amherstdale, a son of the late Luther and Lake (Stafford) Toler.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte Toler; one brother, Jim Toler; father-in-law, Arnold Toler; brothers-in-law, Michael Justice, Norwood “Buck” Buckner, and Bobby Graham; sister-in-law, Sylvia (Herb) Elkins, and two nephews, Bud Porter and Aydin Toler.

   Charles was a business owner.  He enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his family.  Charles was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church of Lewisburg.

   Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 22 years, Ruby Toler; two sons, Charlie (Margie) Toler of Cyclone, John (Pat) Toler of Organ Cave; three step-children,  Diana (James) Powell of Louisburg, NC, Charlie (Pam) Osborne of Cyclone, Tenna (Charlie) Gibson of Beaver; three grandchildren, Tony (Michelle) Toler and Rhonda Harless and Darren, all of Cyclone; and Leann (Toney) Hobbs of Organ Cave; five step-grandchildren, Michael (Tammy) Osborne, Savanna (Adam) Hatfield, Harley Powell, and Cooper and Chandler Gibson; five great-grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Harless, Sydney Toler, Kendall (Tyler) Olexo, and Levi Hobbs; four step-great-grandchildren, Haley Kennedy, Jayda Thornsberry, Jaidyn Hatfield, and Brady Walls; his mother-in-law, Anna Mae Toler; sisters-in-law, Mavis Toler, Emily Buckner, Jean Graham, Sue (Glenn) Jones, and Helen (Nathan) Porter, special sister-in-law, Loraine Justice; brothers-in-law, Sonny (Emily) Toler, Dean (Tennessee) Toler, Jerry (Sherry) Toler, and Pete Toler; special nephew, Jimmy (Beth) Toler; special neighbor/friend, Ada Carpenter; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

   The family would like to thank Bowers Hospice House and PCH Homehealth, and Nurses: Della Williams, Serena Riffe, and Jill Bailey, FNP.

   Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2019, at Toler Baptist Church at Campus.

   A Celebration of Charles’ life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Toler Baptist Church with Rev. Merle Walls, Rev. Randall Topping, and Rev. Charlie Gibson officiating.  Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.

   Pallbearers will be Adam Hatfield, Michael Osborne, Michael Harless, Matthew Harless, Charlie Osborne, and Tony Toler.

   Honorary pallbearers will be Sonny Toler, Glenn Jones, and James Powell.
