In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Allen Dale Pennington; paternal grandparents, Jack and Elizabeth Dempsey; six uncles, Billy, Danny, Tim, and Phil Dempsey and Steven and Bobby Pennington; and one aunt, Carol Ann Dempsey; and special cousins, Angela Dawn Pennington Adkins and Amber Dempsey.

Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his mother, are his grandmother, Pauline Pennington of Crown with whom he was temporarily residing; two maternal uncles, Dick Allen (Cynthia) Pennington of Chapmanville and Jimmy Dale (Evelyn) Pennington of Peach Creek; his maternal cousins who were his best friends, Dax, Darren, and Derek Pennington, Jamie Lusk, Alyssa Adkins; two paternal uncles, Ray (Mary) Dempsey of IL and Shawn (Susie) Dempsey of Verdunville; two paternal aunts, Susie (Dennis) Dempsey Carter and Jewell (Pyris) Dempsey Fields; paternal cousins, Kristy Fields, Rodney Fields, and Bethany Fields, Mark Dempsey, Sabrina Carter, Brian Carter, Fanci Dempsey, Seth Dempsey, and Leslie Dempsey; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2019 at the Mallory Church of God at Mallory where a Memorial Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Shaun Walker officiating.
In honor of Alan’s request his remains have been cremated.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man to help with funeral expenses.
