Ronald James "Ronnie" Manning, 69, of Davin, joined his wife in their heavenly home on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, leaving from Pikeville Medical Center, after a long battle with heart failure.
He was born September 29, 1946, in Logan County, a son of the late Brison and Gladys Waddell Manning.

Ronnie was a 1964 graduate of Man High School. He was an Army veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict. A disabled electrician, Ronnie worked for 20 years in the coal mining industry. He enjoyed helping people and could often be seen helping his wife Sandy at Man High School where she served as the Principal and running the roads. An excellent cook, Ronnie loved the entire process from shopping for groceries to enjoying the fruits of his culinary ability with family and friends. He also loved his canine companions: Yorkies, Billy Joel, Summer Brooke, Payton, Micha Jackson "Jacks", and Baby Teeka; Schnauzers, Paris Hilton and Brody; and one Shih Tzu, Porsha.
Those left to cherish his memory are two sons, Brent Manning of Danville and Brandon Manning of Davin; his step-children, Jillian D.
